I love storms. I believe Ireland and UK are being battered by some rather inclement weather this week, so I won’t dwell too heavily on my fascination with storms, and storm-chasers in particular, in respect for the people whose lives are adversely affected and the very real dangers storms pose to life and property. Mitch Dobrowner’s is a storm-chaser who captures, in beautiful black and white photography, the majesty and awesome power of storms in the American mid-west.     I don’t know how Oklahoma really looks like, but it could just as well be a pic from Kansas and the still from Wiz of Oz, just before the whirl giant enters the scene.

      That scene with the tornado in the Wizard of OZ scared the bejesus out of me when I saw it for the first time when I was about 6 or 7. Still does, now that I’m in my 50’s 🙂
