The unsung heroes of cinema – cinematographers.

The classic Sci-fi film “Blade Runner”.  CINEMATOGRAPHER: JORDAN CRONENWETH

This blog is also designed to celebrate the unsung heroes of cinema – cinematographers.

Nicolas Roeg, the famous British film director and cinematographer, once said “You make the movie through the cinematography – it sounds quite a simple idea, but it was a huge revelation to me.” As it is with most people: including those within the movie industry who, understandable, are all too ready to shower praise and plaudits on to writers, directors and actors before recognising the immense contribution cinematographers make to the final movie. The British film magazine – Empire – has a fantastic article on cinematography, written entirely by cinematographers about their favourite cinematographic moments. Well worth a visit.
